Seeding and crop emergence ahead of 5-year and 10-year averages

The latest crop report, with conditions as of May 14, shows provincial seeding progress of major crops is reported at 33%, ahead of the five-year historical average of 28%. Seeding progress of major crops remains ahead of the five-year average in all regions, with the exception of the South Region, with the Peace Region and North West Region the furthest ahead of average.

Emergence of major crops across the province is reported at 6%, ahead of both the five and ten-year average of 3%. Regional emergence of major crops is reported at 15% for the South Region, 4% for the Central Region, 2% for the North East Region, 1% for the North West Region and 5% for the Peace Region.
