Holstein Canada has announced the four distinguished finalists for the 2024 Cow of the Year award, marking a significant milestone as the organization celebrates its 30th honoree. This prestigious accolade recognizes cows that have made a lasting impact on the Holstein breed, joining the ranks of past legends such as Comestar Laurie Sheik, Rainyridge Tony Beauty, Braedale Baler Twine, and Val-Bisson Goldwyn Maya.
Now, Holstein Canada members have the power to decide which of these exceptional cows will earn a place in history. Voting is open, and every vote plays a role in honouring excellence within the breed.
Meet the Finalists:
Gen-I-Beq Brawler Lizzie EX-95 6E 18*
A true production powerhouse, Lizzie has yielded nearly 160,000 kg of milk while passing on her superior genetics to the next generation. With eight Excellent (EX) and 13 Very Good (VG) daughters, she is a matriarch whose influence will continue to shape the Holstein breed for years to come.
Jacobs Goldwyn Cael EX-96 3E 8*
Cael has built an impressive career both in the show ring and as an elite donor, producing 295 embryos to date. Her legacy is already evident, with four EX and 25 VG daughters making their mark in the industry.
Rotaly Goldwyn Allegria EX-96 5E 5*
A true embodiment of longevity and production, Allegria’s contributions have helped her herd achieve a second Master Breeder Shield. With a lineage of high-performing daughters, she showcases the resilience and versatility of the Canadian Holstein.

How to Vote:
Voting is now live through Holstein Canada’s Member Web Account, with each prefix eligible to cast one vote. The deadline to vote is March 16, and the winner will be revealed during Holstein Canada’s Annual General Meeting on April 5 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
