5V Partnership to Build Advanced Shuttle Train Facility in Texas Panhandle

67

A new partnership between Five Rivers Cattle Feeding LLC and Viserion Grain LLC, called 5V, plans to build a state-of-the-art shuttle train receiver in Dalhart, Texas. This facility will enhance the region’s feed supply, combining Five Rivers’ established presence in the Texas Panhandle with Viserion Grain’s expertise in grain origination and merchandising.

Backed by funds from Pinnacle Asset Management LP, a New York-based firm specializing in global commodity markets, the project aims to address the growing shortage of feed ingredients while boosting local agriculture. It will improve feed access for livestock producers, streamline grain transportation, and create new jobs in the area.

Strategic Rail Connection

The facility will be connected to the Union Pacific Railroad, ensuring efficient transportation and supply chain reliability. Union Pacific, a key player in agricultural logistics, invests over $10 million daily in infrastructure, technology, and network expansion to support market growth.

Regional Impact and Timeline

Scheduled to begin operations in 2026, the shuttle train receiver will serve as a critical supply source for the local feed sector. The Texas Panhandle—an important center for cattle feeding, dairy production, and grain merchandising—will benefit from this investment, which supports long-term agricultural sustainability and economic growth.
