Canadian tractor sales up 25% in September, combine sales up 10%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ monthly “Flash Report,” the sales of all tractors in Canada through September 2020 are up 25% from last year.

For the month of September, two-wheel-drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 25% from last year while 40 & under 100 HP were up 33%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were up 12% compared to last year and four-wheel-drive tractors were up 19% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are up 16% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are up 6%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 16%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 11% for the year.

Combine sales were up 10% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled 940, a decrease of 9% over the same period in 2019.
