Healthy dairy calves are the future of the milking herd. Thus, when developing rearing solutions focused on animal welfare and nutrition, it is increasingly important to know the natural needs of calves, to take them seriously and to implement modern innovations and management solutions. This requires a very close collaboration between science, industry, and producers. For this reason, the organizers of the Smart Calf Rearing Conference are hosting a Producer Day at the University of Guelph on November 2nd, 2019. Producer Day is a producer-based conference featuring practical presentations and discussions on the most current research and strategies in calf health, welfare and nutrition. Lunch and parking is included, and after the conference there will be an optional tour of the state-of-the-art Elora Dairy Research Station. Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis so sign up today!
