January Canadian tractor sales down 7%, combine sales down 22%

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ monthly “Flash Report,” the sales of all tractors in Canada in 2020 were down 7% over last year.

For the year, a total of 1,207 tractors were sold, which compares to 1,299 sold through January 2019.

For the month of January, two-wheel-drive smaller tractor (under 40 HP) were up 12% from last year, and 40 & under 100 HP were down 19%. Sales of two-wheel-drive 100+ HP were down 29% from last year, and four-wheel-drive tractors were down 84% for the month.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were up 12% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 18%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 29%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are down 84% for the year.

Combine sales were down 22% for the month. Sales of combines for the year totaled46, an decrease of 22% over the same period in 2019.
