National Mastitis Council’s (NMC) next webinar features “Milking Procedures for Optimal Milk Quality and Milk Harvest.” This one-hour educational offering starts at 2 p.m. Central time on Sept. 10, and will be presented in Spanish.
Jorge Delgado, who leads Alltech’s Training, Talent Development and Retention Program, says employees are one of the most valuable assets to any dairy. Therefore, training and developing the people entrusted to carry out milking protocols should be a top priority for any dairy.
The upcoming NMC webinar is intended for individuals responsible for milking cows and consultants who want to learn about a different training approach. During the webinar, Delgado will explain several aspects regarding employee training, including the why and purpose of a milking technician, and the employee’s role in a dairy’s success – highlighting the employee’s ability to reduce somatic cell count and mastitis during the milking routine.
Upon completion of the webinar, participants should understand:
- Mastitis basics
- The why of every step in the milking routine
- The importance of a proper and consistent milking routine
