Novus International, Inc., is expanding its team in Canada to better serve its customers in that country.
Katie Hirtle joined Novus this month as the senior sales specialist for Eastern Canada. She will work with dairy, swine, and poultry customers to aid them in reaching their production goals and work to maintain or improve the health and performance of their animals.
Prior to joining Novus, Ms. Hirtle served as poultry specialist for the Atlantic Canada region at Trouw Nutrition. There she worked in feed sales, biosecurity support, and sales and relationship management training. Before joining Trouw, she was the production animal territory manager for the Atlantic Canada region at Vetoquinol Canada, where her focus was pharmaceutical sales. She earned her diploma in Agribusiness from Nova Scotia Agricultural College (now Dalhousie Agricultural Campus) in Canada.
Ms. Hirtle said growing up in a rural community sparked her interest in the
ag industry and she can’t imagine having a different career.
“I am a relationship person; I care deeply for the industry and the people who work in it,” she said. “Their success is my success. When customers trust and see me as a resource, the sky is the limit.”
Mark Moran, Novus executive regional sales manager said he is glad to have Ms. Hirtle as the newest member of his team.
“For me, I am excited to have Katie join the Novus team because of the experience and energy she brings. From our first conversation, I knew that she would fit well with our customers and focus on building long-term relationships,” he said.
Along with a deep knowledge of animal nutrition and health, herstrong background in biosecurity allows Ms. Hirtle to have value-added conversations with customers.
In her free time, Ms. Hirtle volunteers with the Nova Scotia PERP (Poultry Emergency Response Plan) Committee and serves on the 4-H Nova Scotia Board of Directors.
